Dr KELLY FRANCIS – Doctor & Owner
DR KELLY FRANCIS
Doctor & Owner
Dr Kelly Francis graduated from the University of NSW in 1998. She embarked in Intensive Care Medicine training in 1999, but after 3 years decided she wanted to see some daylight and did a year of training in paediatrics. In 2003, she began her GP training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. While completing her GP training, she also embarked on a variety of alternative educational pursuits. She completed her GP training in 2006, and continues to further her GP training by attending mainstream conferences.
Dr Francis completed her initial training course with the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) in 2004, and continues to attend regular advanced training programmes with ACNEM. She attended nutritional training programs with the Australian College of Holistic Medicine in 2004 and in 2008. She frequently attends naturopathic seminars and courses.
In 2010, 2011 and 2013, Dr Francis attended a training course in the biomedical treatment of mental health disorders, behavioural disorders in children, autism, women’s health, dementia and Parkinson’s disorder. This form of treatment involves the use of vitamins, mineral, amino acids and enzymes to combat specific deficiencies and biochemical problems such as methylation issues, pyrrole disorder, and copper/zinc imbalances. Details can be found at www.biobalance.org.au.
In 2013, Dr Francis furthered her training in autism, behavioural disorders, food allergies and intolerances in children by attending a practitioner training programme with the MINDD Foundation. Treatment focuses on dietary changes and removal of food allergens, correction of nutrient deficiencies, correction of gut microbial imbalances, and use of nutrient therapy to combat biochemical problems.
Dr Francis enjoys providing holistic care to her patients, and strives to provide treatment that is based on each patient’s unique biochemistry. The gut is always a focus of her treatment approach. Dr Francis endeavours to educate and empower her patients, and involve them in all of the decisions surrounding their treatments. She uses a blend of naturopathics, nutrients, bio-identical hormones, and pharmaceuticals where needed. A major part of the treatment involves dietary changes and significant effort on the part of the patient. Dr Francis is there to guide you on the journey. She is compassionate and caring, and believes passionately in the holistic approach. She thoroughly enjoys her job, and is happy to tackle anything from a wellness check and nutritional advice to chronic diseases and the special interests mentioned above.
